Thank you to Mrs. Marshall!
Thanks to the leadership of Marilyn Marshall, 100% of St. Matthews Elementary teachers completed the Teaching, Empowering, Leading & Learning Survey (Tell Survey).
Way to go Mrs. Marshall! We appreciate your leadership!
Fairwell to Mr. Leffert
St. Matthews is sad to see our principal of 12 years leave. Mr. Leffert is an outstanding leader and will do well in his new position as "Priority School Manager" for Jefferson County Public Schools. Good Luck Mr. Leffert! We will miss you!
St Matthews Elementary is excited about our new limestone sculptures!
In May of 2011, thanks to Carrie Mateja our wonderful librarian, our students and staff made a beautiful carved limestone bench. Mrs. Mateja was assisted by Mindy Diemer (library assistant), parent volunteers and by artists Al and Penny Nelson of Nelstone (http://www.nelstone.com/work.htm). Everyone enjoyed making the bench and all of the fun stone work activities that they experienced!

Additionally, Dean Hite, former JCPS principal, and aunt of one of our class of 2011 graduates funded the creation of a piece of art created by 5th graders and given to St. Matthews as a gift from the class of 2011.
