| The Minors Lane Elementary staff strives to provide a healthy atmosphere where each child may grow to the maximum capacity educationally, socially, emotionally, and physically. We believe that the home and school must be mutually active in providing a secure and accepting environment, which promotes maximum achievement and happiness of each individual. Each child must be respected as a unique person and each has the ability to make important contributions to our school community. The strength of our society as a whole is due to the diversity of racial, ethnic, religious, social, economic, and political backgrounds.
We are constantly aware of the challenge we face in preparing children for an ever-changing world. School must provide experiences which promote the development of persons who will be ready and able to function in our nation as active and informed citizens. We are determined to direct the experiences of school life to promote self-discipline and self-respect in each child. We believe that children are best taught in a structured environment in which there is flexibility for individual differences and respect for the group. Education must result in thinking processes which promote self-evaluation and value choices that are acceptable in society. |
