Welcome to the Minors Lane Elementary School Family Resource Center. We are a part of your child's learning community. Our role and our responsibility is to provide support and services that enhance academic achievement and promote healthy social values. You are your child's first and most important teacher. We look forward to your involvement, and we encourage you to serve the school community as a member of our Advisory Council, a volunteer tutor, or a mentor, or simply to take advantage of learning opportunities provided in our parent-training classes, support groups, or other offerings.

What is the Family Resource Center?

Your Family Resource Center was created as part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) to provide information, programs, and / or referrals to the families in our school community. Families deal with many barriers that may get in the way of school success, so the Center staff work to assist them in meeting their basic needs and overcoming problems. The Center staff also strive to create a warm, inviting atmosphere where the family feels welcome and remains interested as an active participant in their child's education.

Who May Use the Center?

The Minors Lane Family Resource Center serves all children, parents, and families in our community.

Who Operates the Family Resource Center?

The Center is operated by a full-time coordinator and a part-time clerk. An Advisory Council made up of parents, community members, and school staff also provides guidance in decisions concerning the center.

When Is the Family Resource Center Open?

The center is open 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Evening appointments may be scheduled by calling 485-8857.
