 Middletown Elementary, having received the highest academic rating from the state of Kentucky as a "Rewards School", provides students with a curriculum that is both rigorous and accelerated to prepare them for a challenging and bright future.
Complementing its’ academic excellence is Middletown’s dedication to teaching students essential skills not always measured in testing, such as critical thinking, conflict resolution, cooperation, and problem solving. Of particular pride is the level of technology provided students as each classroom is wired for Internet access. Hands on mathematics, Science Modules, Math Investigations II, French, Orchestra, Band, Problem Solving, Quick Recall, student chosen Enrichment Classes, the YMCA Childcare Enrichment Program, Early Childhood Head Start Program, 4th and 5th Grade Student Council, Extended School Services, student produced WDOG broadcasts, and an Accelerated Reading Program are but a sampling of the many programs and academic enhancements afforded Middletown’s student body.
Middletown is fortunate to be supported by a strong, caring and involved PTA. Parents have generously volunteered their time as classroom tutors, and room helpers as well as serving on School-Based Decision Making committees and the SBDM Council.
