What is a Family Resource Center?

Family Resource Centers and Youth Service Centers were created as part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) to provide services to the families of our community in order that our children receive the best education possible. Parents and teachers both agree it is extremely difficult for children to be successful in school if they have problems at home. Recognizing the importance of total family involement in the educational process, YOUR FRC offers families assistance that will ultimately help children meet their educational needs. This is accomplished by providing community services at the Center linking families to a wide variety of agencies in the community. We also provideprograms during and after school to assist parents in becoming the best teacher they can be. If you have any questions about how you may be more involved in your child's education, please feel free to call us at 485-8869.

Some of the services provided by the FRC:

Health Services - we contract health professionals to come into our school to update immunizations for hearing and vision screenings, etc.

Counseling Services - Seven Counties comes into our school to provide in-school counseling services for our students.
