Lowe Elementary is a Kentucky Department of Education Pacesetter School because of our students' outstanding academic achievement. Lowe students perform in the top five percent of all schools in Kentucky. Lowe Elementary offers many programs, activities and extra-curricular activities that include the following:
- Extensive Communications and Technology Program
- Wireless Internet Connection
- Monitored-Internet access is available in all classrooms as well as in the technology lab
- Accelerated Reading Program
- WLOW Daily Newscasts
- Dramatic and Musical performances and class projects.
- The Advanced Program and Primary Talent Pool for gifted and talented students.
- Spanish Program, Extended School Services (ESS) and the YMCA Childcare Enrichment Program.
- Safety Patrol
- Mayor's Cup (academic competition)
- Orchestra, band, two arts/humanities classes
- Basketball, cheerleading, mascot team, chess, science club.

Parent participation is viewed as an integral part of the educational process at Lowe Elementary. Parents are welcome and are a visible part of the Lowe experience. Lowe has a very active PTA and encourages parents to become involved in decision making through our School Based Decision Making Council (SBDM) and committees.
