Computer Lab This year our students will be learning MS Office programs that will enhance their computer knowledge to aid them throughout their school years and beyond. Kindergarten Students will work with different programs for early learners to carry over their classroom instruction to the computer lab. These programs will enhance their basic computer skills while having fun. First and Second Grade Students will be introduced to keyboarding skills using BBC Dance Mat Typing and Type to Learn. They will be working with Scholastic Keys which is a simpler version of MS Office. This program gives the students an opportunity to create documents using power point, graphics, and word processing. Third through Fifth Grade Students will continue to work on their keyboarding skills using BBC Dance Mat Typing or Type to Learn. They will learn how to successfully use MS Office to aid in typing papers for their classroom assignments Other skills will include navigating the internet and basic Windows operations with the integration of core content curriculum. Computer Application Skills Assessment (CASA) is an assessment that happens every year with either the third or fifth grade. This year it is our Third Grade students. The test covers basic skills of Social and Legal Issues, Word Processing, Spreadsheet, and Telecommunications. Our classes will also discuss and do several acitivites concerning Internet Safety.
