Arts & Humanities The Arts & Humanities department at Jeffersontown Elementary is dedicated to helping students explore, create and perform in the areas of music, dance, drama and visual arts. All students are encouraged to use their talents to impact others by participating in at least one major class performance for a live audience each school year. Students work to learn songs and choreography, memorize speaking and acting roles, and create costumes, backdrops and props for each performance. Classroom studies also include an emphasis on humanities, allowing students an opportunity to strengthen their multicultural worldview by understanding how the arts play significant roles in cultures and historical people groups from around the world. At Jeffersontown Elementary, we feel our great performers of today will be the leaders of tomorrow; and, from our stage, the future is looking bright!
