Community Service

Fern Creek Elementary School students, parents, and teachers are very active in the community. Some of the charities our school helps support are the United Way, WHAS Crusade for Children, Louisville Fund for the Arts, American Red Cross, United Negro College Fund, Kosair Childrens Hospital, and Kentucky Harvest. Students do service learning through Student Council, Beta Club, and other classroom opportunities. Partnerships have included nursing homes, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and the Armed Services. Often grants have been written and donations raised to support the goals and activities of ongoing community services. We want our students to learn that by doing and giving they are an important part of the larger community and our world. Each of us has a responsibility to care for others, and we are made stronger as we unite to make our world a better place for all.
