Library Mission
Statement
The mission of the Fairdale Elementary School Library Program is to ensure that all students and staff have the opportunity and skill to access, evaluate, and use information. We are committed to acquiring and maintaing a collection of materials that will engage and support diverse learning abilites, styles, and needs, while refocusing on the curriculum of Fairdale. We support the integration of technology in teaching and learning, and strive to foster a love of reading that will help students become lifelong readers and learners.

Weekly Checkout: Primary students are allowed to check out 1 book and intermediate students check out 2 books. Books must be returned before students can check out again.
Teachers have unlimited checkout as long as the materials are not needed by another staff member, in which case a two week limit is imposed.
Lost/Damaged Books: Students and staff are required to pay for or replace lost or damaged materials. Students can partipate in a library work program to "earn" the cost of a replacement.
