Coordinator : Robin Kaukas AmeriCorps Worker : Cait Williams What is the Family Resource Center? The Family Resource Center was created as part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) to provide services to the families of our community. Parents and teachers both agree it is extremely difficult for children to be successful in school when there are problems at home. Recognizing the importance of total family involvement in the educational process, our Center offers families assistance that will ultimately help children meet their educational needs. This is accomplished by providing community services at the Center and by linking families to a wide variety of agencies in the community. Who may use the Family Resource Center? The Center is available to all children, parents and families in our community. Who runs the Family Resource Center? The center is run by a full-time coordinator who oversees the Center's daily activities. An advisory council consisting of parents, school personnel and community members provides input into the Center's operation. How can the Family Resource Center help you? The Family Resource Center may be able to answer the following questions: What assistance is available? Services and Referrals provided by the Family Resource Center:
