Jefferson County Public School counselors, in partnership with students, families, staff, and community prepare students to be successful lifelong learners. At Camp Taylor Elementary, some of the counselor services include: individual and group counseling, transition to middle school programs, referrals to outside agencies, and testing information, which includes advanced placement testing and ECE services. Our school also works in collaboration with Seven Counties' school based services, which address emotional and behavioral problems of school-age children. Camp Taylor Elementary also provides the services of a Family Resource Center, which assists students and families in removing the barriers that may hinder learning.I am is a native of Jefferson County and a product of the Jefferson County Public Schools. I earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degree in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky. I completed my Rank I in School Guidance and Counseling from the University of Louisville. As Counselor, I believe that one of my primary goals is to help improve student achievement by working to reduce the barriers to learning. I recognize the importance of being available for students and parents in today's busy society.

I coordinate assessments that occur during the year, which include the Cognitive Abilities Test for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students, the CATS assessment, and individual assesments for ECE students. I also believe that it is important to educate the whole child and that communication between home and the school is extremely important in a child's school success. This communication is vital to help each child reach his or her full potential.
