Awesome Library for Kids - A very colorful Web site in a simple and straight forward format. Students simply select the school subject they wish to study from the opening page grid. Games, adventures, projects, and authors are just a few of the fun and educational topics offered on this Web site.
Fact Monster - Icons on this Web site guide students in the right direction. A wide array of topics include: people, math and money, science, sports, etc. Happy hunting!
JCPS Students - Check out the online resources on the STUDENT section. Select 'Elementary,' Middle' or 'High' which includes Homework Help, Academic Skills Practice, Academic Game Center, Reference Tool Box and Information on Clubs and Sports.
Kidspace @ Internet Public Library - Exploring this site could really prove beneficial with those troublesome homework questions. The Web design also helps you locate information quickly while providing stimulating features.
KYVL - A wide variety of research tools can be found at this site. On your home computer, you need to select the Find Books, Articles and More heading. Scroll to the bottom of the page, and select Grolier Encyclopedias. Here you will need to enter your ID and password. These can be obtained from your school librarian. From this page, you can select many resources, such as dictionaries, atlases, encyclopedias, etc. At school, you do not need the ID and password. The schools are automatically linked to this site.
Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary - A no nonsense site for those times you need a dictionary. Merriam-Webster for kids is also a link at the top of the page you will want to explore. Imaginative graphics with school themes lead you through the site.
Reading Is Fundamental Reading Planet - The RIF Reading Planet Web site not only contains homework help, but also games and activities to engage students. When students visit the Book Zone, they can listen and read along with stories, as well as browse author Web sites.
TeachingBooks.net - See and hear favorite authors and illustrators. Peruse book guides and lesson plans! Check with your school librarian for home access directions.
