After I completed my Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in English and Spanish. I traveled with a former Spanish professor to Mexico where I worked on a master's degree at the Universidad de las Americas in Cholula, Puebla. I have two M.Ed. degrees in education. One degree is from the University of Louisville and the second masters is from Indiana Wesleyan University. I taught all levels of Spanish and English in grades six through twelve at several local schools in Louisville, Kentucky. These schools were Stuart High School, Thomas Jefferson Middle School, Eastern High School and Butler Traditional High School. I was selected as the first full-time JCPSeSchool high school resource teacher in 2000 and have been tracking and developing courses in English and Spanish since that time. My courses emphasize the cultural backgrounds of the various Hispanic countries and offer interactive activities as web quests, virtual field trips, treasure hunts and several other traditional exercises. Students in all levels experience varied lessons that range from the differences in language of each hispanic country to lessons on the history of chocolate, the tango, and the Aztecs, Incas and Mayas.
