Parent Information About the JCPS Optional, Magnet, and Advance Programs

The Office of Optional, Magnet, and Advance Programs assists parents in obtaining information about Jefferson County Public School's choice options for educational programming that enhance the strengths of all students. Through the dissemination of the JCPS publications, Choices--A Guide to the Jefferson County Public Schools and Advance Program and Primary Talent Pool--Guidelines, Information, and Procedures, all parents and students have an opportunity to gather specific information about choice options offered by schools in the District and to receive information concerning the application and screening processes for these programs. Parents and students can also ask questions by contacting the Optional, Magnet, and Advance Program Office by telephone at 485-3323 or by fax at 485-3936.

Parent Assistance Center

The JCPS Parent Assistance Center can help students and parents with questions concerning District options available to all students. Questions concerning reside schools, magnet programs, optional programs, high school open enrollment, elementary school clusters, Kindergarten (Primary 1) registration, and hardship transfers can be addressed at the Parent Assistance Center.
