Compliance and Investigations

The Office of Compliance and Investigations undergird the District's vision to ensure equal opportunity in educational and employment processes by providing student and staff training; investigating claims of discrimination and disseminating clarifying policy information in a variety of formats. The office serves as support for human relations' concerns such as:

  • Age Discrimination in Employment Act
  • Race and National Origin Discrimination (Title VI)
  • Equal Opportunity Employment (Title VII)
  • Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
  • Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Multicultural Education Practices

The Director of Compliance and Investigations fosters collaborative working relationships with local community groups, state and federal enforcement agencies including U.S. Department of Education Office for Rights (OCR), Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Kentucky Commission on Human Rights (KCHR), and Louisville and Jefferson County Human Relations Commission. The diverse population of the Jefferson County Public Schools affords an opportunity to demonstrate cultural reciprocity and tolerance for human differences.
