Seeking Camp Program Coordinator
A Printing Camp will be held Monday August 3rd through Friday August 7th at the Museum of the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) in Louisville, KY. The camp will provide a fun opportunity to write, illustrate and emboss a book in both print and braille. The process of creating the book will be taught by the Camp Program Coordinator in conjunction with APH staff. The maximum number of students will be 12 and participants will be entering grades 6th, 7th or 8th in the 2009-2010 school year. The Camp Program Coordinator will hold a Bachelor of Arts in Education or Art, have three years of classroom experience and an art background. This position will be compensated with a stipend of $1500. Dates of service: 40 hours of preparation between June 1st and August 1st. 40 hours the week of August 3rd through the 7th. University School Leader Certifications Programs Bellarmine University Principal Cohort Bellarmine offers a unique “second” masters program in school administration (principal) using a cohort model co-taught by JCPS administrators. The program begins in June and requires a fourteen month commitment. JCPS may provide some tuition reimbursement to employees selected for this program. Indiana University Southeast Cohort IUS offers a unique principal preparation program with Spalding University co-taught by JCPS administrators. Using a cohort model with a strong clinical and field work base, the program begins with a joint summer session in June. Spalding University Cohort Spalding offers a unique principal preparation program with Indiana University Southeast co-taught by JCPS administrators. Using a cohort model with a strong clinical and field work base, the program begins with a joint summer session in June. University of Louisville IDEAS is a unique cohort for JCPS employees who have been accepted into the U of L principal preparation program. The cohort, co-taught by JCPS administrators, begins in July with five days of leadership simulations. IDEAS meets weekly in the evenings with strong field and clinical experiences, online case studies and reading assignments. JCPS may provide some tuition reimbursement to employees selected for this program. Counselor Certification Representatives will be present to discuss initial counselor certification programs at U of L and IUS. |

JCPS Post Certification Leader Development Programs Counselors for Tomorrow (CFT) is designed for educators who are within one year of qualifying for a counselor Statement of Eligibility. The class meets monthly in the evening with online homework and reading assignments. Principals for Tomorrow (PFT) is designed for educators who are within one year of qualifying for a principal Statement of Eligibility. This year-long class meets in rotation, Monday evenings each week for a month followed by a month off with online homework and reading assignments. JCPS may provide some tuition reimbursement to employees selected for this program. U of L graduate credit is optional. Internship is designed for educators who hold a Kentucky Principal Statement of Eligibility and wish to participate in an intensive year long school based preparation program to become a principal. This year long initiative starts in August and meets every school day for the 2009-2010 school year. Interns are assigned to base schools and participate in medical style rotations to become effective principals. |
